Skype finally released the long awaited App for Symbian Mobiles. Its in beta stage and currently supports more than 10 Symbian S60 3rd Edition handsets. After the beat feedback – versions for more phones would be on their way. Here is the First look at Skype for Symbian.
Currently Skype for Symbian supports following features:
- Free Skype-to-Skype calling
- Call phones with Skype credits or subscription
- Receive calls on your Online Number
- Instant Messaging
- Group conversations
- File sending and receiving

Since Skype requires an internet connection to work, its advisable to have an Unlimited plan form your Network operator. It also works on Wi-Fi, so if you have free Wi-Fi access, the calls from Skype to Skype would be completely free.

Installation Instructions from the Developers:

I installed the Application in the Mass Memory as its inbuilt in my Nokia N98 8Gb, via Bluetooth. Installation was smooth and without any interruptions.
Made the “Test Call for Skype” over 3G connection and it worked flawlessly. If you are interested in trying out Skype for Symbian, download the App from the links above, and let us know what you think about it.
