App/Service Features:

  • Extracts Flash Video from Browser Cache.
  • Lets you Preview a Video before saving it.
  • Gives you the option to skip .swf files, which maybe Ads or Flash Game files.
  • Can extract Video files (.flv) directly from the URL of the video.

What the Developers say:

  • After watching a video in a Web site, you may want to save the video file into your local disk for playing it offline in the future. If the video file is stored in your browser's cache, this utility can help you to extract the video file from the cache and save it for watching it in the future.
  • It automatically scans the entire cache of Internet Explorer and Mozilla-based Web browsers (Including Firefox) and finds all video files that are currently stored in it.
  • Download Video Cache View.

Extract and Save watched VideosOnline flash videos have become extremely popular in the last few years. There are hundreds of online flash video websites among which the best known are Hulu, YouTube, Metacafe and many others. The best part is you can watch them anytime when you are online. However, the next time you want to watch them you need to reload the entire video again.

That’s okay for some videos, but If you are learning something from the videos, you may want to save them on your hard drive. For example I am currently learning Guitar Finger Picking Techniques and need to watch the videos several times before I master each lesson. Its best if I have those videos on my hard drive so that I can watch them anytime, even when I am offline, and that’s where Video Cache View comes in.

Save the Videos that you need to watch again:

Guitar Lesson Video

Video Cache View, as the name suggests, is a nifty little program that scans the cache or Temporary Internet Files folders and displays a List of videos that you have watched till date. If you haven’t emptied the Temporary files from a few days, you would get to see a lot of videos.

Video Cache View Main Window

Preview a Video directly from the cache before saving it

This is the list of a few videos I watched on YouTube and Video Cache view has compiled a list of all those videos. Now we cant really tell which one is which from this list so you can click on File and Play a specific video directly from the cache and save it if that’s the right one.

Video Cache View Options

You also have the option to display Audio and Flash files. I would recommend not to select the .swf option as all the Advertisements are generally in Flash and the program would compile a huge and unnecessary list of files.

Show Types of Files

Scan and Extract Flash Videos from Multiple Browsers

You have the option to specify which browsers should be scanned for files. You can select this in the advanced options. It scans and lists of all available browsers on the computer.

Video Cache View Advanced Options

Well, that’s how easy it is to save your watched videos from YouTube and other Video sites using Video Cache View. Give it a try and Enjoy watching your favorite videos anytime you like.

Download Video Cache View.

    Guess what?
I was watching at a series of exercises on Youtube today and was thinking, if there was a way to save a video I was watching, so that I don’t have to load that schedule everytime I want to exercise. With this I just downloaded that video and well, don’t need to open the browser everytime now!
    Thanks!
